A set of 100 engravings of various Nationals executed by several artists was published by La Hay in Paris in 1714 by order of Comte Charles de Ferriol, French Ambassador to Constantinople. Many of these figures were copied in porcelain at Meissen. Chelsea reproduced the Seated Turk and Companion, which was first modeled by Kändler and Reinicke in 1748.
