A very rare Du Paquier trembleuse cup and saucer, the tall beaker-shaped cup with two molded eagle-head handles, the saucer with a central high pierced openwork lip. The saucer decorated with stylized Deutsche blumen flowers and the cup with a continuous chinoiserie scene including a pagoda and figures in a garden, all in the brilliant Du Paquier palette of pink, purple, green, blue, and iron-red, with gilded highlights. The rim of both the cup and saucer decorated with a Baroque scrollwork frieze in iron-red and gold. The pair to this cup is in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
