The Sèvres archives of 1752 list thirty Groupes d’enfants tenans un Dauphin in two sizes: thirteen in the first size, valued at 10 livres, and seventeen in the second size valued at 7 livres, of which this group is one. The Paris dealer Bazin bought examples of both sizes in 1754.
